Barry Korn

Barry P. Korn, a Chartered Financial Analyst with over 30 years of direct lending and consulting experience, is the Founder and Managing Director of the Barrett Capital Group, providing lending, leasing and advisory services. Barrett Capital Corporation, a specialty finance company, focuses on financing infrastructure projects for co-ops and condos with an emphasis on underlying mortgages and condominium association loans. In addition, Barrett Capital funds bridge loans and unsecured energy efficiency projects for its own account. It’s affiliate, Barrett Green Management LLC offers energy efficiency products and services including facilitation, consulting, and implementation assistance, including serving as an Owner’s Representative and/or Project Manager. Barrett Green’s offerings include LED lighting retrofits, solar, and fuel, gas and water savings product. Barrett Capital Group maintains strategic relationships with a number of bank and non-bank lenders, private equity sources and consultants so as to offer a complete range of banking options and advisory services. Barrett Capital has owned and managed in excess of $150 million of loans, leases and real estate.

Mr. Korn’s experience includes positions as Vice President of Webster Business Credit Corporation, the asset based lending division of $30 billion Webster Bank, one of New England’s largest commercial banks, and at $30 billion New York based Sterling National Bank. In these capacities, he arranged for working capital lines of credit, asset based lending, equipment lease financing, real estate financing and other commercial banking services.

Barry Korn has been on the Board and has served as its President of his Condominium Association for 14 years. He is proud that the Condo has consistently maintained a positive cash flow while completing major multi-million dollar capital projects on time and on budget. Mr. Korn was instrumental in initiating creative ways to increase its capital reserves.

Mr. Korn is a member of the Real Estate Lenders Association and the New York Society of Security Analysts. He served on the Board of the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominium; is a founding Director and President of not-for-profit Energy Infotech NYC.; and, was a Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the NY Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Mr. Korn, through Barrett Capital Corporation, is a licensed real estate broker. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting from City College of New York and a Master’s degree in Finance and Investments from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, having written his thesis on real estate investment trusts.
